What I Don’t Like About CarCovers.com
Not All Covers Under Lifetime Warranty
It’s not that big of a deal, but I wish that all the covers had a lifetime warranty. Their basic shield has a 3-year warranty. It’s understandable since that cover isn’t made as well as the platinum shield cover. Nevertheless, I still wish they all had lifetime warranties.
Car Cover Maintenance
According to the CarCovers website, you can wash your cover in a commercial washing machine without a center agitator and with delicate soap. Be sure to set the cycle to “delicate.”
You can also wash your cover by hand using a mild detergent. Use cold or warm water and cleanse the cover with a sponge.
To dry your cover, it is recommended to air dry it. If you must use a machine dryer, DO NOT USE HEAT as heat will permanently shrink your cover.
Alternatives
Amazon is always the best alternative for almost anything you’re shopping for nowadays. However, when it comes to truck covers, I’m afraid their best ones don’t come close to the same quality as CarCovers’.
For example, Amazon’s best selling truck cover is the Leader Accessories Xtreme Guard. It is about a quarter the price of CarCovers’ platinum shield cover, which already makes me question its quality and durability. You will also find that it is not covered under any warranty, does not come with a cable and lock, nor does it have a fleece lining, making your truck prone to scratches. You’re better off paying a little more for MUCH better quality.
