Missing A Keyless Remote?

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dropped, stepped on, or lost a keyless remote for one of my vehicles. It’s just one of those things you can hardly avoid, especially since they’re small and sometimes oddly shaped. Some of my remotes have taken such a beating that I’m surprised they’re still working at all.

You know what the worst part is? When you want to replace keyless remotes at your dealership, they cost an arm and a leg. Not only do you have to pay for the remote itself, but you have to pay to have it reprogrammed. I remember when my wife destroyed her Toyota Camry remote, the dealership was quoting her about $350 to replace it. Yikes!!

Luckily, I found an inexpensive and RELIABLE alternative to replacing keyless remotes. The website is called Car and Truck Remotes. Complicated, I know. They have pretty much any remote for any vehicle out there plus additional accessories.

This is a link to the Car and Truck Remotes home page where you can enter your vehicle info to find compatible remotes.

Features

Variety

As I mentioned, you can get almost any keyless remote for almost any vehicle. In addition to that, you can get the actual vehicle manufacturer branded remote or a knock-off that works good enough. There are also accessories such as remote cases and covers. It’s really a one stop shop for anything key or keyless remote related.

Warranty

All the keyless remotes come with a 90 day NO QUESTIONS ASKED, MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. This eliminates any worry that you may be working with a shady website. What’s also amazing is that this warranty also applies to the keys even if if they’ve already been cut and reprogrammed.

Locksmith Tools

The website has a category of tools necessary for locksmithing. Most the tools are used for diagnostics, cutting keys, and safely accessing your vehicle. The world of locksmithing is totally unknown to me but I can see how many of the tools sold here can be useful to the average person.

They Buy Keyless Remotes

Do you have a bunch of old remotes sitting in your workshop drawers collecting dust? Well this website buys them back! In addition to keyless remotes, they also buy smart remotes and car keys. Simply request for a quote via their buyback form, ship your remotes, and receive a check within a few weeks!

Why do I like Car and Truck Remotes?

Easy To Navigate Website

The first thing that attracted me to Car And Truck Remotes was how their homepage is so user-friendly. At the top, you can enter your vehicle details and it will automatically take you to all the compatible keys and remotes for your vehicle. Also, on the left side of the homepage, you can simply choose the make of your vehicle and navigate from there.

Simple and User-Friendly!

Price

As I stated before, the prices for all the products are outstanding. Compared to your local dealership, you’ll be saving a few hundred dollars buying through Cars and Remotes. I’m not sure how accurate it is but the website actually shows you how much you’ll be saving by purchasing through them.

They sell used remotes!

If you’re a cheapskate like me, you like saving as much money as possible. Even though I’d already be saving a good amount of money buying a new remote, Cars and Truck Remotes also sells used remotes for certain vehicles. What’s great is that if these used remotes malfunction, they’re still covered under the 90 day warranty.

Brand name used remotes!

All units are tested before shipping

Cars and Truck Remotes gives you further peace of mind by testing all their remotes before shipping it to you. You can rest assured knowing that you can get a product that will work when you push a button for the first time. Not many keyless remote sellers do the same this.

What don’t I like about Car and Truck Remotes?

Some remotes require dealership/locksmith reprogramming

This doesn’t apply to all keyless remotes but you will still have to take a few remotes to a dealership or locksmith to have it reprogrammed. This all depends on the vehicle and the type of remote it utilizes. Of course, this will add to the cost of your keyless remote. I honestly don’t know if you can bypass going to a locksmith or dealership but it sure would be nice. The other remotes can be reprogrammed by you per the included instructions.

Alternatives

Amazon

Amazon is usually the best place to buy almost anything nowadays. They have great customer service, a very user-friendly website, and free shipping with most items.

However, when it comes to selling keyless remotes, they prove to be subpar. First of all, their vehicle compatibility tool is not totally accurate. It will sometimes recommend the wrong remote for your vehicle which you will not be aware of until you’ve actually purchased it. Secondly, Amazon does not sell authentic vehicle branded remotes—mostly knock-offs.

These knock offs sometimes don’t work with every vehicle feature, are cheaply made, have a low detection range, and have the tendency to stop working after a short amount of time.

This supposedly compatible remote on Amazon for my 2007 Toyota Tacoma has some poor reviews based off the points I just made. Sure, it’s less expensive, but as the saying goes, “you get what you pay for.”

Keyless-Remotes.com

Keyless-Remotes.com is one of the few other sites out there other than Cars and Truck Remotes that sell keyless remotes. This page is also easy to navigate but you will soon find out that it sells non-authentic knock-offs. After browsing on there for a minute or two, you’ll soon find out that it isn’t worth your time.

Final Thoughts

Car and Truck Remotes is a pretty reliable and easy-to-navigate website when it comes to replacing your keyless remotes. They make the whole shopping process simple as well as the final transaction. If you’re missing a keyless remote, or need another one as a backup, be sure to visit their website right away!
